Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in support of the Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma event, held in loving memory of my aunt, Joan Provizer.
Joan was the eldest of two siblings, a devoted mother to three children, and a proud Bubbie to five grandchildren. She was in her 40s when she was diagnosed with scleroderma—a disease she lived with for the rest of her life. I never knew her without it.
But Aunt Joan never complained. She went to dialysis three times a week and did everything in her power to fight this devastating illness. She battled bravely for 40 years, and through it all, she remained a role model—not just to me, but to our entire family.
My family and I walk in her honor, and we carry her memory with us. We continue to hope for the day when a cure is found. We love you, Aunt Joan.
