We are Sheri's Flock! We wear Pink!
"Don't worry Sheri, I'm going to save your life!" Comforting words...if you are aware your life needs saving! But, I'm getting ahead of myself. It all started 10ish years ago, with a bump on the back of Sheri's hand. It was painful, and getting worse. Urged by her family, she finally went to see her Doctor. "It's probably Osteoarthritis, but we'll do some tests anyway". Cue the start of a journey that would include, specialist after specialist, test after test, medications, complications, hospitalizations, surgery, and near death experiences. The Rheumatologist gave the diagnosis: CREST. Also called Limited Systemic Sclerosis, it is a type of Scleroderma. The Cardiologist found the heart defects and the damage CREST had already caused. The Pulmonologist uttered that scary phrase 'I'm going to save your life' and he did, along with her other specialists. But, it isn't over. There is still pain, fatigue, and progression of this nasty disease.
We call ourselves Sheri's Flock, our mascot is the Flamingo. Did you know a group of flamingos is called a Flamboyance? Come be Flamboyant with us.
