What A Year!

Wednesday 27th May
This Saturday, May 30th, marks 1 year since Amy's diagnosis. Systemic Sclerosis w/ Interstitial Lung Disease or SSc-ILD. We were "lucky" to have caught it so quickly. At the time "lucky" was definitely not how we felt. With what we now know, we're lucky. All the doctors at the University of Chicago. The GP who listened and didn't dismiss a thing. The 1st rheumatologist who made the diagnosis, recommended dietary changes, and referred us to the specialized rheumatologist, Dr. Macklin. Dr. Mack laid out all of the options, answered all of our questions, was understanding every time I had a meltdown, and helped us get Amy into the right clinical trial. His entire staff has been nothing short of amazing. This has been a year of learning, we've learned to continue living our best life just a little different.
