Welcome to Stacy Stuehrenberg's Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Page!

2026 Stepping Out - Seattle, WA

Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page to support this Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma event!

Your support means so much. Donating through this site is quick, easy, and secure, and it’s the most effective way to help me raise funds that directly support the National Scleroderma Foundation’s mission to advance medical research, promote disease awareness, and provide support and education to people with scleroderma, their families, and support networks. To make a donation, simply click “Donate” and complete the form.

Want to get more involved? You can also register and join my team to fundraise alongside me!

I truly appreciate your generosity and encouragement. Please consider sharing this page with friends and family who might also want to make a difference.

Together, we can raise awareness, support those living with scleroderma, and bring us one step closer to finding a cure.

Becoming Visible

Sunday 7th Jun
Living with an autoimmune disorder means living with chronic pain or, at the very least, chronic discomfort. There is also the waves of debilitating fatigue that impair cognitive function and prevents you from leading the life you imagined for yourself. There are so many complicated feelings involved with this love/hate relationship with your own body and none of it is visible on the outside, at least not for me (yet). Nobody sees any of it, well except the mood changes. Anybody with an autoimmune disorder knows that it is often the invisibility of the disease that can make coping difficult especially if you don't "look sick". Masking to get through the day when your body is struggling takes a toll on your nervous system and your mental health as well. Campaigns like this are important because they create awareness and give those dealing with  chronic issues and opportunity to share their reality. It gives us a place to be seen. Thanks for reading!
